Where should I go to buy new tyres in London?

I put my car in for its MOT today and it's failed as the rear nearside tyre needs replacing.
The Toyota Repair Centre I visited is booked up till next week and I need this sorted sharpish so that I can get my tax disc.
I could try a national chain but I'm wary. I had to go to a local independent when I had a punture, but there's no way I'm going back there again. Just need someone reliable, if such a thing exists...
God, I hate car problems.
Any advice gratefully received.
TIA

LOL London is a pretty wide area.
But here goes, the company I always use near Heathrow is Feltham Tyre Centre. They do cars and bikes, prices are good and staff helpful.

LOL, you're right!
I'm in Brixton, SW9.
Thanks for the tip.0 -
Anywhere in South London...?
Otherwise I'll have to refer to Yellow Pages, God help me!0 -
Go online and price them up then search locally if you want to (the online companies can arrange for them to be fitted).
To compare like with like add £10-£15 to the delivered prices for fitting.

I can vouch for event tyres too. I used 'em last week and were suberb. They will charge a slight premium for a single tyre, though, so it works out cheaper to replace two while you're at it.Etyres or event tyres will fit them at your home or place of work.0
