Pergola pricing..

I want a pergola over my decking which is about 12ft x 7ft and to go over the patio door, so about 8ft ish high.
I'd be looking at a beam attached to the wall, 4 'legs' and then the top bit, nothing fancy.
My local timber yard and the one i did my decking from would work out at well under £100 i reckon for the wood. So far i've only had one quote and it was for £450  so i'm not going for that.
Anybody got any rough idea of what it should cost and if there's anybody in the Preston area who can do it give me a nudge.

You're obviously having to pay for the labour, so why not have a go at doing it yourself? If you have, or can borrow a decent masonry drill, your timber yard will cut to size & you then just need to bolt it all together. Make sure you use treated timber - I think they call it 'tannalised'? & you can get post holders which can be screwed to the decking for ease of fitting. Saves you a fortune & you get the pride of having done it yourself - worth a fortune!!0

i am thinking of doing it myself, especially after that price but £450 sounds like a couple of days labour and i'm sure i could do it myself in a day max0
