Moving to Warsaw...

Dear all...

I'm moving to Warsaw for 6 months from september due to work...

Obviously not the best time of year to go with the minus 20 weather over the winter...but I suppose it's character building if anything!

Just wondering whether anyone knows it's worth the hassle of setting up a bank account there? I'll be needing cash when I'm there, and from time to time will want to pay for things by credit / debit card.

I have a barclays connect (debit) card, barclaycard, and nationwide flexaccount debit card. My salary will go into a UK account, but I can transfer money to either the barclays or nationwide account quite easily.

Will I be hit with crazy charges if I use either of my three cards? Should I get a local account and transfer moeny into that?

Any advice gratefully received! :D
