ipod shuffle problem

Can anyone help me whenever i go to play my ipod shuffle the lights flashes alternately amber and green and nothing i do will fix it.

I have tried to update and restore but my computer wont seem to recognise that the i pod is plugged in!!!!

please help

Which OS are you using? (Windows XP, 98, MacOS, etc?)

See Understanding iPod shuffle's status lights, however as you have updated and restored it, note that the last sentence says "If you still see orange and green, your iPod shuffle may need service."

had the same problem with one, seems if the above does not work then it is broken (reading on other forums this is a much too common fault with these !!)

if it's under 12 months old they will fix/replace it
