Can I insist on a exchange?

Hiya

I bought a DTV from Comet and it has stopped working. I would like to take it back for a refund or exchange but am worried that they may insist on sending it back to the manufacturer to mend. Can I refuse this and insist on a either a refund, credit note or exchange?

Thanks

You can suggest that you would like a replacement, but the seller can refuse that request.

If its within a reasonable amount of time then yes you can ask for a refund .
I would ring consumer direct and ask what the time frame is for such an item ,they may help you with what to say to .
Been really helpful with my problems in the past :)
