O2 Load and Go

I took advantage of the O2 Load and Go cash card last year as a convenient way of giving pocket money and for my daughter to manage her own finances. I set the card to be loaded monthly from my debit card. She enjoys the freedom for spending, buying presents for friends online and getting texts for transactions.
Shortly after launch, O2 removed the facility for regular load. I have just changed back account and when I phoned the O2 money card line, they were clueless on how to change bank details. It seems that I have to cancel the card and then get a new one and only be able to load online using debit card - what a pain!
Has anyone had this as well, and are there any solutions? The O2 card was great as there were no charges for loading or spending. What do others do?

I'm having problems with mine. I can no longer top up online as I access the net via a mobile broadband dongle. They've decided, without notice, that this is unsafe and I now have to top up via a payzone outlet.0
