Barclays online application how long to know ?

I have just applied online for a Barclays Bank Account as the nearest branch is quite a distance, I got the following email
"What next?
1. We'll write to you within four working days to tell you whether your application is successful."
Is 4 days a realistic timescale or do they in fact take longer ?, I was also told on the application that I WOULD NOT need to take ID into a branch as I can be verified by asking questions from my credit report such as my Credit Card Limit, who is it with, what my last balance was etc, so I don't know if that speeds it up, I also thought I would be either accepted or declined rightaway rather than have to wait..
