Are HEADLIGHT wipers part of an MOT test? mine are very erratic and sometimes park in an upright position.
I was hoping to disconnect them for the test and then get them fixed during the summer.
Cheers

Yes - or you wouldn't be able to drive in the rain

It worries me that you think you can safely drive your car after you've disconnected the windscreen wipers."You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

Its the headlight wipers NOT the windscreen wipers:D0 -
I wouldn't imagine that headlight wipers are part of an Mot test.0

It seems that some people need wipers to read the Original Post properly.:D0

I've had a look in here http://www.motuk.co.uk/manual/contents.htm and can't find any reference to headlight wipers.
I'd either contact VOSA or an MOT testing station to find out for sure?0 -
no theyre not. the headlamp itself must be securely attached and the glass must not be cracked or chipped. give it a good wipe down with a glass cleaner beforehand0

Doh - can't read
I thought the rule was if the car has the item, it should work ?0 -
I would have thought the basic rule is "If it's fitted to the car it should work correctly". I'm not sure the position the headlight wipers stops would be an MOT fail though, unlike the windscreen wipers.
If you are going to disable them it might be an idea to actually remove the arms as well if they don't work.0 -

Not the case, However it is in Spain I believe, Where I'm 99% sure that if the car has something it has to work, Even things like sunroofs etc.War does not decide who is right, It decides who is left.0
