my DVD player may have had it....??

hi i have quite an old Bush dvd player, have tried to put a brand new dvd in today, the power works & the DVD screen comes up but when i press play it says 'loading' then 'unknown disc' have tried a few dvds so i know its not them, am i doing something wrong?

    Use a head cleaning disk?
    But given the cost of new ones (plenty under £20), really not worth spending anything on it.
    No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

    Sounds like player is at fault, you could try cleaning the head. Bush is not a very good make and if it is old you will get a far better picture with a new machine. I suggest you buy a quality make like Sony / Panasonic, a bit more expensive but you will not regret it.

    no it is the hannah waterman fitness dvd!! bought from Amazon so should be fine, also tried a few of my sons dvds that have worked on the player before, was all geared up to exercise today!! haha! thanks for your comments, argos/tesco have some fairly cheap new players.

    i have a few disks that work on the PC dvd ok but wont play on the old house dvd player.
    Get some gorm.
