Use a head cleaning disk?
But given the cost of new ones (plenty under £20), really not worth spending anything on it.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Sounds like player is at fault, you could try cleaning the head. Bush is not a very good make and if it is old you will get a far better picture with a new machine. I suggest you buy a quality make like Sony / Panasonic, a bit more expensive but you will not regret it."A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi
