in Credit cards
Paid off my credit card with £947. Only one payment has come out of my account but my credit card has been credited with two payments of £947 so now my credit card has been paid off in full but with credit of £947. The bank account i used to pay off with was Abbey/santander and the credit card was Barclaycard. Will they notice this mistake ??? It has already been 10 days.
How long if i leave it untouched can they claim it back???

They have 6 years to claim if back - untouched or not.0

I'm sure they will notice soon enough. I wouldn't spend the money for 6 years...0

It is a mistake and it will be eventually corrected. Therefore i advise you not to spend the extra £947 as this will be corrected and debited from your credit account.0

The bank, the one that made the mistake (could have been either), has six years time to claim it back.
Yes, you will have to give it back!
Will they notice? - Probably. On the other hand, only five years and 355 days to go 'til the dosh is yours.

If you want something out of the whole event the best thing to do is to ring the bank and let them know, thye will be thankful and sometimes they even give 'goodwill' payments of a few quid to say thanks. However there is no prmoise of thisThe proof that some people really are opinionated and ignorant

The irony is that if you made a mistake and send £1000 to the wrong account..then the bank don't care about you .Would you still have 6 years to claim it back?:eek:0
