We sold in a slightly rough area at the top of the market. Although we "lost" as prices dropped, houses in our old area now take months to sell instead of days. I really wouldn't want to be trading up right now. But the only right time is when you want and are able to do it.Been away for a while.0

You do know there was a 20% fall in values on average in the UK in 2008 right?
Judging by recent sales in our street prices haven't dropped quite that much and we have been able to overpay quite a lot. Although if offers were 20% lower than we paid, we simply would not want or be able to move. Its not that bad here!
Also, I don't see waiting months to sell as too much of a problem, as long as we got a reasonable offer eventually and the houses we wanted were still available at the same prices.0
