I moved house in may and had a new landline installed. My number is ex directory and I dont have any problems with sales calls for myself. Instead i get constant phone calls for a Mr or Mrs Sugden. Is there anyway I can stop the calls for these people? They ring from 8am until 9pm. Its extremely annoying!

Not really.
When you get a 'new' telephone number, more oftenm than not it is a recycled, second hand number.
If you tell the callers the person they are trying to reach is no longer available on the number they have dialled, the calls should eventually stop, especially as things like phone books with the previous subcriber's name & number are updated. But personal experience suggests that it can take many years to stop the calls completely.
You could get a different telephone number ... but then you risk starting again with the same issue.
BT offer a 'choose to refuse' sytem which will allow you to block certain callers ... but they charge for that (you might get one month for free if you think that will help you)
Perhaps have a look at Truecall? (Product available cheaper elsewhere) Lots of MSEers who have bought one appear to like it."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Yes its recycled. I had problems years ago when a local buisness had a number like mine and I get constant calls. I got my number changed and I got it for free
Unfortunately when you tell companies to stop often they dont. I just got true call last week to stop unwanted calls it screens calls, you can put yout family and friends on the list so they dont get a truecall message whilst other callers dont you can refuse the call and dont even speak to anyone0 -
It's certainly worthwhile the OP signing up if they haven't already done so.Registered with the TPS?
However, it may not help in this case as the calls are for another person, and that other person may have previously given consent to receive such calls."Now to trolling as a concept. .... If your service provider is BT and you have no attachment to the current number they can give you a renumber, otherwise use caller display or get an answer machine and vet your incoming calls, or try asking the callers to stop calling as the sugdens dont live there0
