Car Leasing

Taking out a personal lease on a new car seems to be getter more and more popular recently, especially during the credit crunch with people struggling to get a deposit together to buy outright.

Just wondered if people had experiences with leasing cars, if they would reccommend it and what positives and negatives there are?

Thanks,
Neil.

The biggest negative is being charged for damage at the end of the lease. Some companies are fine, some charge for almost invisible marks. When I returned a car at 4 years/90,000 miles the collection driver marked every panel as damaged - even the roof. And the car looked way better than most other 4-year old cars on the road!

Leasing rates appear to have gone up quit a bit in the last few months - my car is lease and i reckon it would be about 80 a month more now than I pay.

Think we may see some adjustment in the market now scrappage is ending and manufacturers need to be more realistic
