RAM memory for laptop

Can anyone suggest a good place to buy more memory for our Acer TravelMate 250 please? I'm looking to add either another 256mb or 512mb of RAM, depending on price. Also, is there a difference in brands when it comes to memory or are they all much of a muchness? I don't want to go for the cheapest and then find I have problems with it! Any advice gratefully received.
