German Buyer on Ebay

Hi,
Wondering if anyone can help me. I have sold a 'buy it now' item on ebay to a german bidder and they have sent a message in german which I have translated and it says "Communicate please bank data! Thanks!!!"
So they obviously want to pay me by bank transfer but what bank details do I need to give them and also will I get charged for receiving their payment?
Thanks

No it isn't likely to be a scam. German's users tend to use bank transfers much more than paypal, paypal is not popular over there.
Going back to the OP you need your IBAN number, sort code and account number, make sure you tell them you must have payment in sterling funds, sometimes even German buyers assume we are on the euro. You should receive the payment free of charge, all fees will have been paid by the sender.
Don't forget though if your auction was paypal only for overseas buyers then you don't have to accept any other method if you don't want to.

That's not strictly correct. If the buyer pays in sterling there will be far more charges than paying in euros. (Admittedly, it might not be the recipient that pays them, but better to be safe than sorry)
If they pay with euros and select 'shared charges' there should only be a small fee for conversion... but check with your bank first.
They might also need a BIC number.
Here's a guide I've just found on international payments:

Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
Thanks for the advice soolin and frivolous, have it all sorted now.0
