I used the letter template provided on the site to write to my bank and try to claim back the money I lost from my debit card when Fly Globespan went into liquidation. However, I had no response within 14 days and still have had no response. Is there a further step I can take to try to claim back the money?

Debit cards don't generally give the same protection that credit cards do. Thanks for your replies. The bank confirmed that they received the letter but no further news since then. The card was a Visa Electron.0

They may be able to exercise a Chargeback but you don't have S.75 protection like you do with a credit card.
I would write to them again chasing things up and reminding them of the time frames for resolution that apply and that you'll be referring the matter to the FOS if you don't get some progress / resolution soon.
EDIT: You'd be better posting on a EU Mainland / French forum as few (any?) of us are familiar with the laws / regulations over there

I paid for a Globespan flight on the internet with an electron card issued on an EasyCash account by Halifax. The call centre advised that they couldn't refund the money (less than £100), so I went to the Financial Ombudsman. You do have recourse via the chargeback scheme. To cut a long story and heaps of determination short, I now have a refund of the whole amount. Keep persevering, and do exactly what they tell you to even though it means lots of form-filling and letter writing.
