Asda - bad quality footwear

Bought 2 pairs of pumps both the same for my 2 daughters on 12/3.

After the 2nd time of wearing them, I noticed that on my youngest daughters pair, the stitching has come away which holds the little plastic hooks where the laces thread through.

Am really mad. This is the 3rd time I will have to return some footwear because of falling apart after next to no time.

My own fault the last time as I bought them school shoes from Asda and they lasted about 3 weeks and took them back and complained. Got another pair and more or less the same thing happened. False economy I guess, will stick to getting the school shoes from Clarks in future.

Have got the receipt for the pumps and am going down tomorrow to return them. The other pair I bought at the same time seem to be ok at the moment, but we'll see.

They were £6. Yes you are right, but I would expect them to last longer than 10 days !!!!!!.

Indeed. Buying on price is a false economy.

I am sure I saw an advert from Asda saying they had a 100 day quality garantee for clothing etc.
  • the 100 day promise excludes footwear, states on the website.

I buy my kids school uniform from asda along with underwear and things like that. When i saw the "100 day guarantee" i was over the moon, i doubt iver had anything last 30 days never mind a hundred - Free uniforms all year :D

Well I'm still going to return them. They were ok when I returned the school shoes.

i also have a problem with Asda footwear, a pair of shoes for me lasts about 2 months if that! im not sure what they make them out of but im starting to suspect its that crate paper i used to use in school.

Yes they are cheap but the whole point of moneysaving is finding a cheaper alternative on your every day needs. I dont want to spend £70 on shoes for work, i dont mind spending £15 but Asda seem to make complete rubbish for that price so i guess i'll have to find a happy medium somewhere.

OP i feel for you on this one, there is no way you would want to spend alot on your kids school pumps, those things dont last 5 minutes no matter how much money you spend on them! Its just a shame Asda are promoting their quality above everything else and then excluding a big known problem from their T&C.

i binned a brand new pair of asda shoes last week cos they absolutely tore my heels to shreds after only wearing them to walk for less than ½ a mile...never had any problems with asda shoes before so i just put this down to bad luck. I couldnt take them back, they were saturated with blood! Can you imagine me trying to take them back in that condition?!

ASDA shoes are rubbish! I've bought a few pairs in the past just to tide me over until I can afford a decent pair. None have lasted more than 3 months and all have had a problem within 2-3 days of wearing them. I wasn't at all surprised to see them excluded from the 100day jobby but also I don't expect £10 trainers to be any quality at all!
