We started off many years ago with a no4 cutter and me doing it for DH, now he uses no guard and does it himself in the bath. That's a lot of money saved in the barbers, considering he no longer has a whole scalpful to cut off it wasn't really value for money at the barber.:money:

I do insist if we're going somewhere that pictures will be taken that he doesn't shave his head immediately before, as it looks like he has NO hair at all in pictures when it's freshly shaved.

I cut OH's hair yesterday for the first time with clippers.. after I had worked the 7.5 hour shift from hell and with minimal sleep

OH thinks it looks fine but I dont like it... I think it looks patchy.

I do the boys' hair as well as DH's, it often does look patchy if they let it grow quite long before they let me loose on it.

DS1 never used to let me do it, after a disastrous fringe trim when he was little. But he (sort of) trusts me now ... :rotfl:

Hubby bought a new set of clipper thingies at the weekend - and they do a much more even cut than his old ones. My job is to do the back of the neck - and I do get into trouble if I make him bleed...

I have to do round the ears, make sure his sideburn bits are straight, and the back of his neck.

How do you make him bleed? I've never managed that. Must try harder - then he might stop asking me to finish it off for him. :D

I started off with a number 2 many years ago when I got my first clippers, it got shorter and shorter, now I don't bother with the plastic bits on there at all and have the adjuster right down to the bottom. :)

I do have to wear a hat when it's hot though. :D

I'm another long-suffering wife who has to tidy up the back and do round the ears. If you press too hard with the clippers at the wrong angle and no guard on, you can nick quite effectively. :o Try right at the top of his ears!

DH was using a new pair yesterday which I haven't quite got the hang of yet, they don't require much pressure and I was hurting him to begin with. Everybody say "Aaaah!" I'd like to see if he could stand epilating ... :rotfl:
