Beko Washing Machine

Can I just ask for some advice before I give them a call tomorrow?
Elderly Mum purchased this small Beko Machine in August 08 from Argos. We still have the receipt for it.
This morning she has put a wash in and the machine is constantly tripping the power. Obviously as its 2 and a half years old we have no comeback with Argos, but what can I realistically expect Beko to do?
Just wanted to get it straight before I call them in the morning
Thanks

Contact Argos, argue that it should have lasted longer than (btw thats under 2 years old) _it has.
Use the Sale of Goods Act.. you may have to provide an enginners report as its over 6 months old and the onus is on you to provide evidence of poor quality parts/poor manufacturing/poor design, causing the fault.
If it turns out to be the motor, then I think you may struggle as they do tend to wear out and are designed to be replaced.
I really dont think Beko would help, but maybe worth a shot...................................................................0 -
Two and a half years old machine, you might still have comeback under the Sale Of Goods Act depending on how much your mother paid what you could reasonably expect from the machine but I would expect Argos to reject it and you would have a fight on your hands. You will need a report on the machine
Have you checked for leaks from the water pipes at the rear of the machine ?
As to what you can expect Beko to do, they will charge you for a call out for starters anything from £50 to £100. Parts may be extra."The whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, but wiser people so full of doubts."

I also had a beko washing machine that worked fine for about two months, and then started tripping the power. I called Beko and three different engineers came on separate days and they all claimed to have fixed the problem, not one of them was sure what the fault was. They did advise that I had my electrics checked... however we had not long moved into a new build house and had previously used a different machine that did not trip the power! I complained that the machine was not fit for purpose, and my money was refunded via my retailer, noone expects a machine to last for years like they used to , but I was told that I used it too much, I have five children, I didn't buy the machine to look at!! Hope you get some joy!0 -
As it over 6 months it up to the op to prove the fault is inherent with the machine. I would call out a decent locally repairer. Ask him that if he think the fault is inherent with the item to give you a report to the effect and present that to Argos. If he think its just ware and tear. Ie damaged belt or motor brushes would be examples then pay him to repair/replace machine depending on cost.0
