Hi everyone i did a shop online with Asda which was delivered this AM and they have just rang to say bank refused payment. I have spoken to someone in accounts who said they will not continue to take payment from the card an i need to make a different oayment with another card. Is this right? will they not take the payment from the previous card?

It's up to Asda on their policy if they want to try and continue to take payments on that card.
I suspect they are following the logic of "if it fails once - it'll fail again" - and from experience - 50% of the time they'll be right.
Is it a massive problem to provide a different card?0 -
It could be a massive problem if the OP doesn't have a different card. I would be in the same situation as I don't have multiple cards. OP hasn't clarified whether the non payment on the card was a bank error or whether there wasn't enough funds to cover the cost?0

The money was in the account and i am guessing it was a bank error. It is a huge problem to provide another card as i don't have one. I don't have multiple bank accounts to do this. So i am wanting to try and figure out how i can resolve this as they won't allow me to come into store and won't try my original card again.Plan to save all child benefit from Jan 26th - November 30th

I suggest you sum it up to them very eloquently;
tell them your bank blocked it as a suspected fraud transaction and you have since had the card unblocked (I would assume you've done this)
if that fails, tell them that if they want their money, they can either charge your card or shove it.0 -
they can either charge your card or shove it
That's OK if the OP doesn't want to use Asda online anymore.

Is there perhaps a family members card you can use as a one off & give them the money?0

I really don't want to use Asda again the customer services is disgusting. I cut my hand open last delivery on a pack of mince and they refused to do anything and said ' anyone can pick a pack of mince up and see it has sharp edges' all good and well but when someone has packed your bags for you, it's not easy to see. And by cut i mean give over a 1 inch slice into my hand.
They have not taken payment this morning and not rang me by 8am like they were supposed to. I refuse to make another payment when they have my details to take payment.Plan to save all child benefit from Jan 26th - November 30th

exactly, stick to your guns...its not your fault it was the bank's error and you've sorted that. If they dont want to take payment from the perfectly valid payment method then thats their problemDebts at LBM (May '08) £5760 - Lloyds CC £4260, Lloyds OD £1500;Debts as of May 28th 2011:Santander CC: £0.00Lloyds OD : £0.00DFW Nerd #1247 - Proudly dealt with my Debts

It will be your problem if ASDA register a default and trash your credit rating. Best to find a way of paying what you owe and shopping elsewhere in future.0
