Ideal Home Exhibition - What's it like?

Options
Hi All,

I've never been to the Ideal Home Exhibition before and thought I might go this year if I get the chance. I will look through their website, but wondered if anyone had any tips as to which time is best to attend (weekends, evenings, etc?)

Any tips really appreciated, thanks in advance :)

Hi Summer, I am going on Thursday 25th. I would say wear a light jacket and flat walking shoes. Bring a bag for any items/ leaflets. We are also taking a packed lunch to save on cost and queing.

It is quite crowded as folk are gathered together in one place and there are often que's. The shows are good and people are friendly in showing there sale items.
If winter comes, can spring be far behind?
    Spring begins on 21st March.
  • Hi, I was lucky enough to get a free printable ticket for the Ideal Home Show, I am going on Friday 26th, havent been since 1995, but agree with Mrs Thrifty, you definitely need to have comfy footwear on, and it is a good idea to take along a snack or drinks

It sounds like the FREE tickets I have? Just have to pay the £34.40 train fare for 2 adults, off peak day return. Should be a good day.

They are all gone now. There was an offer of 10,000 tickets through the Evening Standard about a month or so ago, but they went fairly quickly.

I went on Saturday (opening day) it was very busy!

the Anglian show homes were very disappointing - especially after queueing for an hour to get in!

I was also hoping to see plenty of kitchen and bathroom sets to look at for inspiration. Sadly there was only Poggenpohl with a stand you could get on to look and feel. IKEAs was one to look at from afar. No Howdens/wickes or anyone else. There are a couple of bathroom people, 1 with freestanding baths and 2 with shower enclosures (which was of interest).

Loads of hot tubs mind, lovely looking ones - if you are a minted footballer!

The talks in the Theaters were good though. Linda Barkers was good, but George Clarke's was even better. He talks a lot about property refurb and there are some really good ideas you can take away that are suitable for smaller projects.

lots of things, gadgets and whatnot to buy - which i did!

on the whole a really good if exhausting day out.

So, it might be worth getting in for a demo then.... I maybe will pass the Anglian homes bit unless I can waltz straight through....

Hehe, you'll be lucky, we got there at doors opening time and many people made a beeline for it straight away, so it was still a 45 minute odd wait then. there is a nice little garden coffee bar nearby mind you if you can take it in turns to queue/sit for a cuppa....
