My son's Targa laptop crashed so we were advided to do full system recovery. I wonder how long this is supposed to take as it has been on all night and only about one fifth of the second page of write data has loaded, the first having loaded no bother. Is this a complete waste of time? Does this mean that there is actually another underlying problem. Before it crashed completely, it told us that there was a problem with loaded software.
I hope that this is not toally meaningless and someone out there can help. Thanks.

does take a while, if you abort it now then it may cause more problems in the long termEx forum ambassador

when ever i have run recovery software it takes "normally" 15-30 minutes for a recovery disk or 1Hour for an XP install CD, it its taking a real long time it might be your harddrive going/gone.... wait and see im affraid.
once its started if you stop it you will have to start again to get it working!0
