Young drivers insurance .. Help needed please
My daughters car has broken down and probably won't be available to her for a few days ... We live in a rural location and she needs a car to travel back and forth to work.
My insurer won't entertain putting her on my car insurance because she is only 20 years old, and im also struggling to find a company that will offer her temporary insurance, again because of her age.
This is really quite urgent, and im not sure where to look to get this problem sorted out .. If anyone has any ideas it would be great to hear from you .. Thanks

Some days I wake up Grumpy ... Other days I let him lie in.

Buy a policy then cancel it within the 14 day cooling off period, please check that you can do this before spending 3k on the policy!0

Ring round the hire companies first thing, hopefully one of them will entertain a young driver.
Might be worth checking their website's today, that might well rule most out or as a possible and worth calling, airport branches of the bigger ones will most likely be open today to get the yes or no answer.0 -
In the last year I have had car insurance policies with both Diamond and Egg and both have happily added my daughter (now aged 19, but 18 when she passed her test less than a year ago) to my policy for short periods of time, ranging from a few days to a month. The cars that I have had have been varying insurance groups (6, 9 and 14) but I've not had a problem getting her added as a named driver, even with her limited driving experience.
I am guessing that your car must be something very high-powered (big engine or sporty model) for them not to add her. Have you asked for a reason when they've declined to insure her?
