I've three options of what to do.
1: The usual. Skavsta-Edinburgh with ryan air. Trouble is I live near Newcastle in the UK so...my dad isn't a fan having to go up there 4 times a year, even if this is the last I'd rather not make him do it if I can avoid it.
Also the airport in Sweden isn't exactly on my doorstep

2: New one. Norwegian airlines from Arlanda ( just next door to me) to Edinburgh. Still !!!!es my dad off but I get to take more stuff.

3: Cunning plan. Skavsta-Rygge (Norway) on a new Ryan Air route, wait around for 5 hours, then from there right to Newcastle. Its this one I'd be leaning towards if I only I could figure out how to send my stuff home as paying ryan air's crazy fees twice would suck.

The problem is the guitar. With Norwegian I could manage to take all my weight (they let you have two bags of 20kg iirc) but the guitar counts as another bag in itself so....yeah. No way of getting all my stuff home myself.
So...options either to leave some of my stuff with a friend then get it a few months later when I visit or to post some of it home- and I was reasoning in for a penny in for a pound and I save my dad having to take a day off work, the horrible trip and all that petrol.
  • How did you get to Sweden or have you bought lots since being there?
Why not fly to Edinburgh then get a flight to Newcastle from there with a budget airline?

A quick Google for parcel services from Sweden to UK resuted in the following, may be worth looking into

    PaySend
    DeliverTheWorld

Also why don't you try listing on Shiply you just may be lucky that somene is travelling back to the UK....although perhaps not something l would be willing to do, can you imagine customs "did you pack this bag/box yourself" :(

    Such things exist?
But I'd still be paying twice there, may as well do the flight to oslo then to newcastle as that, same hing.

I've been in Sweden a while, I've bought a few things whilst here and I've been back home to visit a few times and ended up bringing more stuff over. I went home at christmas and took some things back but I still think I've got more than one journeys worth and my guitar in particular is suspect- when I first came and brought my guitar it was with a rather good airline which then went bust with the economic crisis....

Can you fly KLM via AMS? If booked far enough in advance, probably £50-£80 more than Ryanair but generous luggage allowance.

ETA: Just had a quick look, KLM actually fly direct ARN-Newcastle. So do SAS, and if you book now you could get it less than £120.

What about ferries? They are unlikely to be too worried by the weight of your luggage.
