Not sure if anyone can give me any advice on this.
I have a boiled in the kitchen which is probably 11 years old and ive notced it is making some strange whirring noises when it is heating water. Ive never noticed before but not sure if it has always done this.
Me and the mrs have been getting a headache every day for about a week and im a little concerned the two maybe connected.
I have Direct line Home resposnse so im hoping they may come out and have a look.
anyone an thoughts?

The headaches are probably not connected, but if you are worried I would suggest buying a carbon monoxide tester. They are quite inexpensive, and will give you a result fairly quickly.
It sounds like the same problem that we have had with our boiler.
It could be the fan...making the whirring sounds.
Have it looked at and make sure. When life throws you lemons...put them in a gin and tonic !!0 -
Turn it off until you get it professionally checked. The noise may just be limescale kettling in the heat exchanger, but if it's an open-flued boiler then there may be a combustion issue, or there may be a faulty case seal on a positive pressure room-sealed boiler. If you don't usually get headaches then it is a possible sign of CO poisoning. If it turns out that it is emitting CO then a trip to the GP would be advisable.0
