Phoned Scottish Power today to see if there were any decent deals to make me want to stay...the BEST possible prices they could give me were -
11.293p per kwh for electricity ...same as I'm on now
2.75p per kwh for gas ...14% cheaper than my current 3.221p

    EDF are going to be
7.48p for elec (33% less than my current tarrif !!)
2.455p for gas (24% less than my current tarrif !!)

Ok, the EDF standing charges are twice the amount...but that's only £80 per year !

I asked how Scottish Power could justify such a huge premium when it's exactly the same end product coming through the pipes ?...silence. There was no further effort to retain me as a customer, so I'm really not prepared to pay an extra £400 or £500 a year just to boost Scottish Power's profits.
Anybody currently with Scottish Power surely has to have an urgent account review to see how much they are overpaying.
So, this afternoon I'm switching over to EDF :T
