on older PC I update manually anyway - Start - All programs and then Windows Update. Have a quick check and see what needs updating.

Can you play streaming films on such sites like youtube ?

Uninstall it and go to Windows Update to download a fresh version

Yes youtube plays ok at the moment, but I do get some warning that it doesn't support my browser anymore, but they still play.

Have had a look at the updates bit and it is telling me there are 46 important ones and 18 optional.

Get the important ones ;) goes without saying, as they're the critical updates

NP, always remember to get the critical updates at a bare minimum as Microsoft always has flaws and they need their security updates to stay protected.

I wouldn't limit that to Microsoft, all software and platforms need to be kept up to date. I use Ubuntu and there are usually several security related updates a week
