Any help with what I should be paying???

Options
Hi all

Sorry I'm a bit blonde, always paid a set amount for my elec and gas and it was always in credit, then recently it jumpeed dramatically (by £100 per month) so I'm asking for any advice please?

I live in a 2 bed apartment with my boyf, we are both out of the house for approx 9-10 per day (6 days a week).
My actual usage for the last 12 months has been:
3555 for electricity (kWh)
3427 for gas (kwh)

Firstly - does this sound high?? I didin't think so but any advice would be great- I can give more info if needed?

Secondly, I have always paid £59 per month DD for both via npower, and always been about £150-200 in credit (which covered my winter usage nicely) but then in december I got a bill stating that my DD was increasing to £152! Now I'm back at £201 in credit! Raaaaaaa!!!!

Just checking on energy helpline, I did a comparison and it came out at £485 for the year for both based on my usage- does this sound right as it seems low-but is this due to recent cuts??

Sorry for all the questions, just trying to weigh up if to swop, and what a reasonable usage should be for 2 people who are never home (I drive my boyf mad by telling him to turn off the lights!! and his x box!!! :rotfl:)

Thanks for any help xxx

Your electric usage is on the high side of average and gas is low. Your DD should be below £50 based on those figures. Give them a ring and tell them you want it reduced to what it was previously. If those figures are accurate meter reads and not estimates they are taking the !!!!.

Just noticed your supplier, the biggest !!!! takers in the industry with DD amounts.

Something is not quite right here.

Your electricity consumption is reasonable but your gas consumption is extremely low at 3,427kWh. The UK average is 20,500kWh and what you have used would hardly cover hot water let alone any heating(or cooking?)

If you have been paying £59 a month(£708pa) there is no way you would get so far in debt that your DD would increase to £152.

I would check your consumption figures again!
