Help! Student daughter changing uni

Options
My daughter plans to move to a uni nearer home at the end of her first year - she already has offers of places at 2 local unis (to go straight into second year). After last years fiasco with SLC, I'd welcome any advice on the following:
If she lives at home, am I right in believing that her maximum loan entitlement will be lower? Would this be the same if she lives independently but in the same town as us? Should she apply now for 2nd year finance for the course she's currently on and notify SLC of change of circumstances later?
Any advice/ ideas most welcome

The loan would be lower if she lives with you, but the same as she currently gets if living in her own accomodation.

She'll need a transfer notice from both the old and new university, otherwise she'll be placed in overpayment as it can be classed as withdrawing.

Apply now for the old university, send in the transfer notices at a later date.

I think so, since your daughter needs not to rent an apartment or a room anymore, but aside from this I think everything ( the loan allotted for tuition fees and etc) is still the same.

I changed university at the start of the year, from one in England to one in Belfast. If you have any questions, just send me a PM and I'll reply. It's a long process, involved many forms from both universities and about an hour on hold to Student finance, but I wouldn't change my choice for the world.

In the Student Finance forms there should be a change of circumstances form. If its not there, you can download it from the website. You'll need a letter of confirmation from the new university to confirm this to the SLC. The only other advice I can give is get the forms away as soon as possible.
