    Debt-free and Proud!
    Good morning everyone!

Pointy - I'm returing to my old ways and pledging £35 this week please - after a couple or so weeks of big spending and a few reds, things sould settle down in my neck of the woods.

Last week I was red again with a spend of £200+ after unexpectedly buying a colleague's motorbike off him at a truely bargain basement price.

    Good morning everyone,

Talking about sales and bargains, I picked up a bargain this week:

One of my colleagues at work was talking about selling his motorbike which has a current list price of £1400, but he didn't think that he could get less than half that, due to the current climate and the bike's dischevelled looks - I jokingly offered him £200 and he accepted!

The bike looks very tatty but the engine is mechanically sound - I've helped him with it since he bought it 3 or so years ago, so I know it's history well - and it has an alarm/immobiliser, and other accessories. I couldn't believe it, so I double checked and treble checked that he was happy to take £200, and he explained that he would rather have an easy transaction with me, than have the hassle that comes with advertising the bike, and trying to sell it/convince a load of strangers to buy it.

So, it's a win win situation - he gets an easy quick hassle-free cash transaction, and I get a bargain - I reackon that I can sell the bike in a year (should I wish) and the sale will more than cover the costs spent using the bike - so fingers crossed, leaving me in profit!

Anyway, with that spend, and other associated costs (insurance, etc) my pledge has been blown out of the water this week - so I'm definitely red.

Good luck everyone else with bargain hunting - this week appears to be the week for it!

Good luck everyone - I'll report back at the end of the week.

The good news is that I have found a £10 note that I stashed away last week to go towards the cc so I wasn't as near to the bone as I thought.:D
The fairly good news is that I have £14.85p left to last me until Friday despite giving £25 as a birthday present. :)

The terrible news is that I have bought 2 pairs of jeans and rather a lot of craft stuff on the cc. I have to clear this from my £80 asap but I don't count it as spends until I actually pay it. Hope thats not cheating but its too confusing any other way.

By keeping to this challenge I have to date saved £2100 so far this year so I am more than pleased with this. Its only because I have to come on here and report my spending that I have managed to save this amount so thanks to you all. :T
Mortgage and Debt free but need to increase savings pot.

    well done you.

I KNOW i have saved money but not sure how much. I am managing to put £30 a month away for the £365 challange and not using my CC and I'm not running tight.

    Afternoon

Been off work for the last couple of days as had a bit of a prang in the car and feel a bit achey. Going to physio this afternoon then hopefully back to work tomorrow.

Spends were £2.75 on train ticket on Sunday, £7.31 on food from tesco. Then yesterday £4.96 for lunch. Also £3 on scampy for dinner (it was yum)
