I would contact the place where you worked and chase them up (all they would need to do is send an email confirming your dates and hours worked to the recruitment agency). Its not your job to do this, it is the agencies but may speed things up. Last time I had an issue with a recruitment company not paying me I mentioned my intention to take them to a small claims court if not received within a specified period..amazingly they paid up?

    I said it was a radical idea didn't I?

In any agency position I have known, it has always been the responsibility of the employee to gain the authorisation of the client as to their agreement to the hours worked, and for the employee to then ensure this authorisation was passed to the agency.

I suggest the OP refers to their contract with the agency.

I thought it was totally radical and rather far out 'crazy idea' of yours! :-)

In theory isn't the agency the employee to the company (worked for) and you are an employee to the agency, as it is the agency which pay you and do your payroll etc and not the company worked for? As stated check your contract I'm not sure personally, it would be interesting find out though!?

The radical nature of Premier's suggestion lies in pursuing it with those who have the power to do something about the problem.

If the agency keep saying the hours have not been authorised, you can make as much of a nuisance of yourself to them as you like, but they can't authorise the hours.

Whereas the company you worked for, in particular the manager you reported to, can sort this problem quite rapidly, but they may not know it's a problem!
