so im writing a few threads to try and see the best deals out there for a single man starting again from scratch.
soo i will be going into a new flat and im going to need all the essentials
so can someone advise me on possible the best deals out there such as cash back, discounts, multi buys etc
stuff im going to need will be a kettle, toaster, microwave, plates, knifes and those sort of things,
im guessing something likes tescos or asda may be the best bet through their online stuff via quidco

Do you want to get new stuff or do you not mind secondhand? When I set up home I got a lot of the basics from charity shops, freecycle (handy for electrical stuff) and car boots, and replaced it with decent stuff later on when I'd got a bit more cash to spare.
You could put a "wanted" on freecycle and see what comes up.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -

I have just found this site which may be of use as to what to buy:
http://www.ourproperty.co.uk/guides/essentials_for_your_first_property_what_to_buy_and_when-p1.html
Plus a checklist.

Have a look at TJ Hughes as well - they're not bad on the electrical/homeware front. Stock does vary quite a bit though. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Do you have an Ikea store nearby?
They are supposed to be good when setting up from scratch.

Tesco value range is great. Toaster/kettle are about a fiver each. Cutelry is cheap too. If you have a Home Bargains nearby they have cheap utensils and tea towels etc.

Lidl have an offer on a red kettle and toaster for £26 - offer lasts until 14th April (while stocks last)
Siansburys tend to be quite good for cheap wine glasses - but crockery seems expensive - try Matalan as it sells items seperately rather than having to buy a boxed set of cups and saucers that you are unlikely to ever need.
I would take a look at somewhere like Dunelm mill for curtains, duvets, pillows etc.
It is always worth letting your friends know you are moving into your first home as many people have items they no longer use that might be good to tide you over so you can save and buy the things you really want - rather than just going for cheap and cheerful.
Aldi give 3 year guarantee on kettles etc0 -

Ikea do a starter pack for kitchens, ideal for students or people setting up for the first time.
TBH you can get whatever you want for whatever price you want at just about any supermarket and quite a few high st stores these days (I worked for M&S and nice glass tumblers were only 50p).
Probably the best thing to do is build up your range slowly and get a few better quality items so you don't end up having to replace everything in a couple of years time. For example do you really need a microwave? Get a couple of good quality knives rather than a set of a dozen which are all useless from Argos. Most kitchen items are gadgets that you don't need if you get a few good quality but versatile items.0 -
If you are not too proud, freegle.
I love it, it is second hand but it still does a turn to someone, ours has sofas, washing machines, TV's. Great for bits and bobs. Even if you want to but the bulk of stuff, things like curtains and the like.0
