hi can anyone shed any light or offer advice? currently in MQ, 4 bed as we have two 14yr olds, a 10 yr old and an 8 month old and a 14yr old who visits for every school hol so 4/5 kids..our accom is too small so we filled in an 1132 to transfer to a much larger 4 bed (our curent property cant fit a 6 seat dining table or lounge furniture for everyone to eat together or sit). housing at aldershot asked us to notify them if we heard of any local 4bed MQ's coming up tht were large enough for our needs. We did this as we heard of a family been posted in a months time..after numerous calls to and fro to aldershot HIC, we were told the address had been placed on our file and when it came up for allocation we would be strong comtenders quote "unless a welfare case or someone with higher priority came along" Last week we called for an update as the family had marched out, to be told it had been allocated already to someone else. After a bit of digging, its another transfer from a family with 3 kids, aged 22, 19 and ten, the eldest supposedly married..they are also already in a 4 bed and have 2 kids LESS thn us..after phoning housing again, i was told it was a mistake that they had been allocated the house, however they cant now revoke the allocation so basically tough!! i have also found out their eldest son, 22 isnt living at home and on his facebook page it actuslly says he is married...which Im sure they havent told housing...
Who do i need to speak to to get this deciaion overturned? they admitted making a mistake so someone needs to take responsibility..does anyone know of a MQ been taken away from someone once it has been allocated and who do i need to contact.? thanks in advance..

Have you put in an official complaint?
Not sure what else to suggest. If they aren't allowed to revoke the offer i guess there is nothing they can do.
You could try contacting the AWS or AFF for advice.0 -
yeah i have contacted he housing specialist at AFF and I have now put in a written complaint...I just wondered if anyone knew whether the offer could be revoked if he had aquired the house by deception..thanks guys:)0

what an awful position to be in
I dont know for sure but surely if a house is obtained on false grounds the offer could then be treated as null and void ? When i moved to the house we are in now we were initially allocated over entitlement, but our address was changed subsequently so there MUST be a way to revoke?0 -
I would go straight to welfare dept if I were you, couldn't quite see (a couple of glasses of red!!) if you'd done this?? If no help then SSAFA, maybe your HIVE?
Good luck, MQs are a weasel so don't give up.0 -
If you take over a quarter that is above your entitlement, ie you have a 3 bed house and are only entitled to a 2 bed, you sign paperwork that if someone with the higher entitlement requires that quarter, you have to move out!0
