I didn't expect it to sell for that much lol but now it has and they have already paid for standard airmail, whats the safest way for me to send it and hopefully cheapest? It's 550g from what i could find international signed for is going to be £12 but i don't need £500 worth of compensation have they not got a £200 option is it worth asking at the po?
Is international signed for any safer anyway?

There is no RM service that can guarantee a signature or tracking once an item has left the UK. If you want to guarantee tracking you will need to find a courier option0

If you chose Royal Mail and DON'T do ISF, then you will risk a 'lost item' not being paid by RM. The value of normal airmail is £39.
ISF gives you added protection, if you choose it.
How did the buyer pay for 'standard airmail'? It was either on your listing or not. If not, then refund and sell to the next lowest bidder, in the UK, and send it via Special Delivery.0 -
hi, international signed for is a guaranteed service costing £3.70 on top of postage charge. You then pay an extra charge on top for insurance- usually a couple of quid. There is size restrictions for this service tho , parcel must be no longer than 60 cm. because you have insurance and tracking this is a safe way to send, just keepall your receipts.0

Yes it was on the listing, i'm not worried about paying the extra for insurance etc, just want to cover myself for 'i haven't got the item' senario!0 -

no its not
it relies on the receiving country obtaining a signature and updating RM's tracking data
otherwise as far as RM are concerned they got it out of the countryYour item is delivered to its destination by the registered postal service of that country. A signature will be taken at the delivery address (please note this will not necessarily be the addressee), which means the item is not left unattended or posted through a letterbox. If no-one is available to sign for the item then it will be retained by the postal administration. for a subsequent delivery attempt or collection by the addressee. But please note that we cannot routinely provide a copy of this signature. In the case of loss of an item we will request proof of posting from the other postal administration but this cannot always be provided.0 -
Like cyberbob says there is no RM service that will guarantee you a signature or any proof of delivery overseas. You'll need a courier and even then remember you need it tracked to the address that paypal say is 'OK to send 'to.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.
