Does anyone have any idea who makes John Lewis appliances? They cite german parts so is this Bosch?

it's not Bosch IIRC, but for that matter I can't remember who I read it actually was LG/AEG maybe

John Lewis appliances are made by the Zannussi/AEG group

That's correct.

In fact some of their fridge/freezers are just re-badged AEGs

Thanks for your reply's so far. So if AEG make their appliances and taking into account the 3yr guarantee offered with John Lewis appliances do you think they are worthwhile? We are looking at getting the slimline washing machine but have not heard from anyone who has a John Lewis badged appliance.

I once had a John Lewis slimline fridge, which gave me many years of good service before I replaced it with a fridge freezer when I moved.
