Another boiler quote

I have received two quotes so far to take out an old boiler and replace with a combi.

They are both similar (£2000 v £2090)

The main difference is the boiler choice

One offers a Dimplex 30kw HE and the other is a Main 30 HE Eco

Anyone offer any advice which is better and if the prices are fair?

The quotes both include TRV's x6, new 22mm gas supply and wireless thermostat.

Also the Dimplex includes a 10 years warranty on the boiler (which I though was odd considering most i'd seen was 5)

Thanks in advance!

Avoid both IMO. Both are cheapo boilers.

The 10 year warranty will be just on the main HE I would think.

Is the dimplex a re-named Halstead, as they own Halstead?

Thanks for that! Not sure about the re-named Halstead.

Thought a 10 year warranty was too good to be true!!

I'm far from being an expert but isn't Main the same company that makes the Baxi who won Boiler of the Year at the 2008 Corgi awards for the heating industry?

Yes they are a sub-division of Baxi. But corgi awards are pretty meaningless in the real world.

Baxi are just about ok, and main are the same but with a lot less warranty.

Fot a good boiler these days you have to look at the Dutch ones.
