Sunparks de Haan

Options
Hi
Has anyone stayed at Sunparks de Haan? We are going at the end of August and staying in a Luxury villa. Please can you tell me whether the coastal tram goes right ot the park and also what it is like? We are travelling by Eurostar as we don't have a car.

Any advice would be welcome.

Thanks

    Hi Sheila

We stayed at Sunparks de Haan back at the end of May. Couldn't get a luxury villa as there only a handfull on the entire site!

Tram runs along coast just behind apartment blocks through Nieuwpoort-aan-zee and back along river bank inland to cross river in Nieuwpoort itself. I think any of the tram stops will need a taxi ride to Sunparks. Have a look on Google Maps stick in Nieuwpoort, choose the hybrid option and zoom in, you can see Sunparks around the lake just to the north west of the junction between the N396 & N355.

If you need any help organising taxi to get you there etc give Sunparks a call, ALL the staff were really helpfull and most spoke excellent English:T

    Have a great time

I think the last poster was giving advice on the Sunpark near OstDuinkerke rather than the De Hann one.....

We stayed at De Haan Sunpark last year and it was fab. It should be even better now as they have added a new indoor play area for kids. We used the pool every day and rented the bikes available on site to take us into De Haan.

The "kusttram" goes relatively near the park but it's not easy to find it without a good sense of direction or a map. It's about 15 minutes walk through the woods between the sand dunes and the park and the park is really between stops even though there is an official stop called "sunparks". Once you get through the woods, you can see the tram line and just turn left if going west or right if going east and you'll hit the next stop! Here's a link to the website - it's all in Dutch/Vlams, click on the button saying "kusttam-route", then click and hold on to the tram and move it over towards "Wenduine", unclick and it will show you a map of the tram route near the Sunpark.

You can get info on ticket prices on another website - adult day cost €6, child day cost €1.50

I hope you know already that Eurostar tickets for Brussels are valid for onward travel within 24 hours to any Belgian train station. The nearest SNCB train station to De Haan is Blankenberge (on kusttram route) although there are probably more frequent trains to OOstende (on Kusttram route) or Brugge which are not too far.
