Sorry to be son dense but I am looking to re-mortgage, possibly changing lender. Can you tell me what charges are likely to apply and anybody who does fee-free as Martin's thread seems to suggest that with a mortgage of 54,000 fee-free is the greatest saving??????????????????? Also, we may move in the next couple of years are there any types eg. redemptions that we should avoid?
Any advice much appreciated.

most lenders have a totally fee free option for those with lower mortgages. If you are looking to move perhaps you should look for something with no early repayment penalties whatsoever, or perhaps an 18 month fix rate with no early repayment overhang
You would get a better idea of exacly how much can be saved by taking advice from a whole of market mortgage broker (fee's free, obviously!) Martin mentions some in his article, but there are many brokers that will work without a feeI am a Mortgage Adviser
