How do I reclaim Mileage?

It should be done within 9 weeks, however it can take less or much longer depending on the workload at your tax office.0

Great - thanks for that. Better than I thought! I think I will send in my mileage sheets too. Although it says to just send the form, I would rather them have them there if they need them rather than faff about contacting me. Am sure a colleague mentioned that she had to send hers last year.0

The first claim takes an eternity to do.
Generally you send the P87 in, it sits in the post queue for about 6 weeks, when received its then passed to a senior officer, if the claim is over a certain limit, then its a request for mileage logs etc, if its over an even higher limit then its passed for self assesment.
3 months if your lucky, but once agreed in principle update the details over the phone. He's not an accountant - he's a charlatan0 -

Go into the relevant forum, and just above the list of threads there is a 'new thread' button, top left hand side.0

Just about ready to send my form off. Have a query about how much you're refunded though... Am I under the wrong impression to think that you're refunded the difference between what you've received and what you should have recieved if paid at 40p per mile? :think:0

Yes, you are wrong.
You will receive a refund equivalent to the tax on the difference.
Eg, employer pays 10p per mile and you do 10,000 miles as a 20% tax payer.
You will receive 30p x 20% (6p) x 10,0000 -
I have travelled to and fro from work with an allowance of 0.20p can I claim mileage.0
