PPI Reclaim general question

Just sending a PPI refund request to Swinton who were fined by the FSA. I am just reading the template on this site, at the end it states:
Does this mean that if the PPI was paid over the course of a loan or the insurance they will add 8% on each payment, or is the 8% overall. Hope this makes sense!

As I believe I have been deprived of this money I also expect 8% statutory interest, the amount a court would award, to be added to each payment made.
