Items for donations

Hi,

Would there be any issues with making some costume jewellery and then accepting a donation to my justgiving page in lieu of a ''payment' for each item? I am not selling them, not accepting any money myself.

I am self employed but make jewellery as a hobby and would like to raise funds for charity. I would like to create a page on Facebook showing what pieces I have created but I would like any advice on whether I would be able to do this or not.

Any help would be very gratefully received.

You would need to state which charity the proceeds were going to.

    Thanks for your reply.

So as long as I state the charity - currently Cancer Research UK - and provide the link to the page to donate, this would all be fine to do?

Should be, but it would be sensible to contact Cancer Research and ask if they can give any more advice and also let them know you are doing this.

I'm sure they wouldn't have a problem, but they do need to know of fundraising being done in their name to make sure it doesn't 'damage the brand' IYSWIM.

Just as an example, I don't suppose an alcohol abuse charity would want anyone to run a Cheese and Wine party to raise funds for them.
