Account blocked

Rang up my credit card company (intelligence finance) wondering why i haven't received the latest statement. Have been told there is a block on the account. They cannot say how it happened but wanted my address. My credit card still works. They have unblocked it. Due to delay in sending my statement i will not have enough time to pay off the balance which is due next month.

I have decided to pay the credit card balance by standing order. So i logged onto my online halifax account. Was suprised to find i had limited access. My debit card still works. I could not set up a standing order. I rang up the customer helpline and have been told there is a block on my accounts. Tomorrow i have to pop into my branch with a passport etc to unblock it. They also would not say why it is blocked.

As a matter of interest intelligence finance is owned by halifax. Have been with halifax for over 25 years and this is the first time it has happened.

this sounds as though post has been returned - explaining why they wanted your address

if this happens, your account gets frozen for security reasons - this is probabaly why id has been asked for

yes intelligent finance are owned by Halifax but very separate in their own right
