Paying off overdraft after closing account

Ive just switched bank accounts from Barclays to A&L. I was under the impresion that they would match my overdraft but this hasn't happened. My old account has been closed but i still have an outstanding overdraft. Will i be able to pay it off in installments as i'm beginning to panic and am regretting swapping.

Your old account will not have been closed if it is in overdraft. The money you owe is repayable on demand, but Barclays might not demand immediate repayment if you keep paying money into your account.
