I have been looking at decking boards but wasn't sure if they would be suitable :)

I have a long narrow garden with very heavy clay soil so i am looking to raise most of the garden up a bit

Thank you for all the help and ideas

Make sure its well lined, sleepers may contain carcinogenic chemicals so may cause cancer

Get pressure treated wood instead should last a good 5 years or get raised beds in B&Q on offer at mo for £17

just line them with heavy duty plasic sheeting ( or rubble bags )

that way the earth doesnt come into contact with the sleeper

Too many 'mays' too get me worried . But if you were concerned, you could line with plastic. Me , I live dangerously :D

What is wrong with decking boards ?
Treated to use outside. Solid . A dream to work with , no splinters , Uniform colour,
easy obtained ..... ps I think I should buy shares in the factory.

Yes they cost , but would last for years.

Ps I even made a 'matching ' compost bin out of decking .... Sad .. moi :D
