I had to go see a friend today that lives near what is supposed to be my local Tesco (I have been boycotting them, again, so haven't been in for months) so I thought I could pop in and use one Dove spray, Dove roll-on, Dove Men's, Dairylea spread, triangles, Milka, Plenty and Whiskas Temptations as the last time I went shopping there I was told I can only use 1 couponnet coupon per product. Plus I used 2 GFS Hellmann's coupons, I'm allowed to use as many non-couponnet coupons as I want. So the SA puts all my stuff through and totals the bill which it came to £12.66 and he asks me if I want a Computers For Schools voucher to which I replied yes please. While he was tearing one off the voucher pad I was getting my coupons out. As soon as he saw the coupons he put down the Schools vouchers without giving me one. After he put through my coupons the total I had to pay was £2.63. Before I got out my money to pay I asked him for the Schools voucher and he said I could not have one because I didn't spend over £10. I explained that £12.66 is £2.66 over £10 so yes I did spend enough to get the voucher. He was adiment I could not have a voucher because I only spent £2.63. To which I replied, "fine, keep your voucher but coupons are money and I did spend the required amount regardless of how I actually paid for what I bought!!" He sheepishly looked up at me when he handed me my change and very softly mutter "sorry". I thought yes you will be sorry as I marched myself to the Customer Service desk to get my voucher, tell them what I was told and most importantly tell them how much I hate their store!!!:mad: I didn't really need to have their stupid voucher but it was the principle of the whole thing. Everytime I go in that store I always get nothing but greif! I bet they think the reason why they don't have much business is due to the major road works that is going on right outside the store but if the truth be known it's because of the nasty, bad attitude towards the customer from horrible staff! I wish I was their boss as I'd sack the lot!;)
Maybe if you had been a bit more polite you might have got one? No need to be rude to their staff who are no doubt following their supervisors advice.0 -
Usual Tesco Customer Service Then......... On My Travels, Anything More Than Sub-Standard Is A Unusual Surprise....

Excuse me?! I was not rude at all. I was very polite. I was spoke to the SA very nicely, I always do! I will stand my ground though, which I did in a very polite way and I don't like your implying I was anything but polite. He was not following any supervisor's advice either because the lady at the customer service desk said that he was totally in the wrong and she would make sure he was put straight and she apologized for his behavour.Murphy knows me too well and sticks to me like glue!0 -

Not only can I not see any rudeness on Sher60's part, but I have to wonder why the sa had such an issue with giving her the coupon, considering he was not depriving sher60 of anything - he was actually cheating the school who would benefit from it. How sad is that?So your answer don’t be scared of failure
For the only failure is never to try

I saw no rudeness in your post either sher...so you had no need to defend yourself....and as for the blooming school voucher thingies...the SA's in my store give me loads and loads of 'em , they just rip off handfuls of them , never ever count them out, they're just glad to get rid of them ...so I def think the Sa that served you was having a strop for the sake of it....can I just say you are an inspiration in moc money saving, more power to your elbow gal....
I use 2 other Tesco's and they are always polite and have no problem giving out loads of the vouchers. Personally I could care less if I get School's voucher or not but if they offer to give me any I always take them and pass them on to someone that works in a school. It was the principle of the whole thing! Not to mention the attitude like I was stealing from the store by using coupons. Plus he was the one that offered the voucher to me in the 1st place, I didn't ask for it until I realised he hadn't given it to me and then for him to recind giving it to me because I paid part of the bill in coupons. I really should know better than to step foot in that store as all I ever get is greif and then it burns me up for hours afterwards just thinking about how there can be so many nasty people with a great big chip on their shoulder in 1 place.Murphy knows me too well and sticks to me like glue!0 -

I can't see that you were rude Sher. I totally understand where you are coming from.
My local Tesco is exactly the same - utterly rude - and I haven't been there since December when they dragged me to the CS desk and argued wrongly that Tesco no longer take conditional spend vouchers. I had a Sainsburys one - the classic one shown on Tesco's voucher acceptance pictogram that all main stores seem to have - so it's not exactly difficult for them to remember that these are OK! They were so rude I was fuming, but I just stood there calmly repeating 'you are mistaken, Tesco DO accept these' like a cracked record, until they caved in. They only caved because I showed THEM their own pictogram!
I have used their car park a lot though in 2010, as you don't have to be a customer to use it, although they want you to. It's the same car park where a member of my family got a 'fake' (not Council) parking ticket last year - of course we didn't pay it - and that scam got me into the private parking tickets sub board on here. So they did me a favour in teaching me about a new subject to advise people about on MSE!
I would happily park in their stupid car park all day if I needed to, shopping in every other store except Tesco. :rotfl:PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Go Sher. If it wasn't for coupons a lot of us wouldn't step foot in T's and the management must realise this or they wouldn't keep sending out Head Office memos to 'remind' stores of the national policy. I am shopping there more at moment as I had 4 x £10 off a £30 shop vouchers (see last thread :rotfl:). Hoping OH uses it tomorrow (along with a £5 off Tesco mailing and a few Farm Foods if we are lucky
), then it's back to other stores that have better customer service - S's, M's, Aldi, etc.
If at first you don't succeed, try, try, try - oh bu99er that just cheat0
