CouponWoman wrote: »How awful sher, having to be treated like that. Tesco don't seem to realise that though we are using a coupon we are spending money too.
I had a good day yesterday, but they need us to use their stores as much as we like using coupons to save money. I would be inclined to write a letter of complaint at being shown up like this.
Hope you feel a bit better today, and have got over the upset.

I had some quantum £3 coupons which were running out of date so bought 3 and took them back to the store which doesn't like coupons along with some clothes I bought online. I did make sure my spend was just over £30 so they couldn't argue about me not paying cash for the quantum, but they saw the £100 spend and all the other coupon use that I did in another store;)Be thankful for what you have because it could all be taken away tomorrow.;)

Just write to Sir Terry - tell him what happened n how some just print personalised and how much the store lost, ask him to clarify any new policies and give name store time visite etc..... also tell them how much time u wasted, and how enjoyable your detour to Asda was and how u lost the coupons they wrote on....SIMPLES!0

Sher60 - what a horrible experience for you. It makes me so cross that some Tesco staff just seem to make up the rules as they go along, plus they don't seem to actually understand how coupons work & that their precious employee won't actually be at a loss for accepting them.
I hardly use any coupons because I am unable to download Couponnet, hence why I hardly post on here but I do have a read now & again to keep up to date & also because you all seem such a friendly bunch. So many thanks from me too for running the thread and hope you have better luck with your coupons elsewhere.

Appalling treatment sher60...absolutely disgraceful. It would appear the some 'new rules' are creeping in as well as some that are made up on the spur of the moment...why not ask 'beforeishop' how you are expected to use their mocs when it clearly has 'Personalised Coupon' on them...0

I'm going to give you the Reader's Digest version of my failed shopping trip to Tesco Extra in Cradley Heath yesterday. My daughter and I had spent over an hour doing our shopping but when we were going through the till a supervisor came over and asked the SA's if they needed something (I didn't hear what) and they didn't and he saw the coupons I was giving the SA and wanted to see them. My Daughter was on the till right next to mind and another supervisor had just walked over an handed something to the SA that was checking her out and as she was walking away, the supervisor at my till started asking the one walking away about the "new" coupon policy. Apparently the "new" policy is this: the coupon will only be accepted if it has your name on it and you have to have proper ID on you to prove that the name on the coupon is your name! What on earth will they think of next! I explained that I can't control how the coupon prints and if it prints www.dove.co.uk or Personalised Coupon or my name and all they said was that was their new policy to stop people from using someone else's coupon so it must have a name and I have to prove that the name is mind. I personally don't think coupons should print a name on it just for Data Protection sake. Plus what does it matter who uses the coupon? If it is a legitimate coupon and the person using it has to actually buy the product which would indicate that the person uses that product so what if they have more coupons because someone gave them their coupon because they aren't going to use it and doesn't want it to go to waste when they know someone who can use it! In the States there are "Coupon Groups/Clubs" and they swap the coupons they aren't going to use for ones they will. And I don't know if they still do this, but the grocery stores used to have a box by the front of the store where people would put the coupons they didn't want and you could take ones you were going to use. I honestly don't see the big to do over someone using a coupon that was given to them. The store is making a sale and so is the manufacturer so where is the problem?!!! Unfortunately for Tesco Extra in Cradley Heath they did not make the sale though as some of my coupons did not have my name on it (which I can't control that) so I tipped out the £125+ of groceries out of my bags and into the trolley then informed them that I had been shopping for over an hour so the chilled and frozen would be no good to put back. My daughter did the same but her shopping came to about £150. It must be nice that their store is doing so well that they can turn away over £275 in sales, not to mention the future sales they will lose as we won't be going back! I'll be damned if I'm going to show them ID to use a coupon!:mad::mad:
What do they expect, next step photo id before you step into the store! Surely this "new Rule" bans all women from using dove for men coupons! I do all the shopping for my household so why shouldn't I have the full quota of coupons for all in my house and funnily enough we all have different names. Although lets face it I'm grateful for any coupons I can get for things I am actually going to use or get at a discount rate!
Sher I'm feel the frustration for you!:(0 -
cornfed chicken @ Asda £3/kg. Tesco £4.08/kg!!! :rotfl:I have been buying cornfed chicken from Asda ever since they reduced it down to £3/kg. 1 big bird I usually paid around £7-£8 now gone down to £5-£6. Don't like "battery" chicken they don't taste good & it has too much water retention on it. It does not cook properly as well - meaning it disintegrate intosmall pieces!! Won't it be nice if Tesco gone bust! I won't feel sorry for them "staff" just hope that Terry's PR is reading our posts.

I used to work for Tesco. Worked there for 6 years and yes they do make up rules as they go along not only for customers. A bunch of miserable people :rotfl:I am a Dolphin Angel:A
