I'm not intending to be a creep here but lets admit it, the guys at MSE have dragged a major IT upgrade project forward by a week or two (at 24 hours notice), carried it out in about three days and left us all with our worse gripe being that our post count and stars have disappeared - so the patient has scars, big deal at least it's alive! It's better than ERROR 500 - Internal Server Error! every 20 seconds!
Can you tender for the next government IT project please guys.
Well done!

Absolutely!!!
They'd have been justified if they'd closed down the whole site for a week or two and I'm amazed there's been colmplaints - though thankfully most seem to have been light-hearted
Well done!0 -
Well that has got me confused for a start
.
On the plus side, yes they dun well to get it up and running, but there is still a way to go.
What about official replies to our concerns that we have posted?I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe

Because they are maybe working on them rather than answering posts on here. They said speed was the priority, all will be sorted in due course.
I think the site is excellent, thanks to all involved who worked hard to get the site up and running again.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0 -

Give them enough time do do the things they thought they had another couple of weeks of testing to iron out. There doesn't seem that many staff and they most likely don't want to work a full 24 hours a day to nail all the bugs (or post official replies to things they know about).
Don't get me wrong, it's not finished - but already (for me anyway) the speed is up considerably on the old forum, people are getting their screen names back and I suspect in a few days that things will settle down considerably.
This thread was about congratulating the hard work that certain people have put in to get this far in such a short time, all too often people criticize whats missing rather than appreciating what they have got.0 -

Yes, three cheers to them from me! I'm very grateful to everyone who worked so hard to get the new site up and running so quickly.
The new site, even though it's still early days, is way better than the old one in my opinion.

(oh, and full of Fascinating Facts too- obviously)
Well Done & Thank You!!!Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...0 -
