Checking the prices of used ones on Amazon is a good place to start.

I don't think the prices are too high, mind you.

I got rid of loads there just before Christmas, most were 30p a go. I had some that were going for around £18 on Amazon, but had just sat there for 19 months without a sniff of a sale, so I let them go to MM at around £4 a disc as well.

You may want to try Computer Exchange. cex.co.uk

This will allow you sell them all in one lot without wasting the time and energy it would take to list and post each individual item. You can check the value of each item online to see whether the offered price is competitive. They will give you more money for an exchange but also offer a price where they will buy from you for cash.

  • Try Cash Converters etc., they won't be interested in budget DVDs (or offer you zilch for them) but if your collection mainly consists of releases from the big studios then you should get more than Magpie can offer. Be aware of their need for ID, you could also ring them up with a small sample and see what they'd offer you.
  • You will probably get about £600 for them on ebay as a job lot listed with the wholesale and job lot dvd listings if they are in good condition.

You'll get even more if you can get them posted with a courier etc. i buy a lot of dvd's and dont bother with going to collect, if you can post them for £50 or something you will get a good price

For 400 DVDs? Unless they're impressive titles I think selling 400 DVDs as a joblot would be lucky to get £250. Just had a look around sold DVD lots and they go between 60p and £1 a piece on average in lots of 100 plus, unless they're blu-ray which fetch a fair bit more.

I think you may have misread thenumbers, it is only 400 mixed CDs and DVds not 4000. You ar elooking at no more than a pound each for popular films, down to 50p or so each if they are old or rubbish, and much less than that for CDs.
