Is it safe to download a keylogger?

My sister is adamant that she never uses my PC, but I am sure that she is. Anyway, I thought I would try a keylogger to check whether she is going through my stuff.
Dont worry, I am not using it to gain passwords etc (I know them anyway because I set them up for her, but dont look at them).
I did a quick google, and downloaded KGB keylogger for free. Norton has picked up a security risk "spyware.kgbspy".
Does anybody know if these are safe? (I am assuming that there must be a risk that the info could be relayed somewhere).
Cheers

I wouldn't .......... set a password (bios or windows) if you want to stop her..Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0

If you're using XP Professional, you can make your folders private. Private folders will then only be accessible through your own login. Then change your login password so she's forced to login under her own username. Voilla! No more peeping."He who asks questions cannot avoid the answers"0

You could also try checking the logs if she's turning it on and using it.
Right click on the taskbar (bar along the bottom) > Properties > Start Menu tab > Customize button > Advanced tab > scroll down to the bottom, tick "Display On The All Programs Menu".
The go to Start > All Programs > Administrative Tools > Computer Management.
I can't check from here on (don't have rights at work) but you want the Logs and Alerts part. By looking under the correct part you can tell when someone booted up the pc. Basically look at the log time. If you were out at 7pm, and left the pc off and there's a log a 7:08pm then you know someone was using it.
Apart from that I'd do as above, just set a password. Also Google TrueCrypt. If you're worried about sensative data, it's an excellent app for encrypting stuff."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0 -
I did consider the password thing, but its a pain when the PC hits the screensaver and you have to login again. Also wanted proof that she was doing it
However, if everybody advises against it then I may remove it. Troo seems happy thoBe nice0 -
Cheers, I will use the logs.
I use logs on access at work. Didnt know XP did it too, tho I guess its obvious that it should.

So I uninstalled the program. Norton said that I had over 30 registry keys for kgb spy
Is there an easy way to get these removed? I believe that I have removed anything else relating to this program.Be nice0
