Can we change the student account

HSBC are offering a mp3 player for new student accounts. Unfortunately, my son's student account is with HSBC and he wants an mp3 player. He is just coming into his final student year.
Would it be possible to close his HSBC account and then open a new 1 year student account with HSBC, so he can get the free gift?
Thanks
Karen

RENTING? Have you checked to see that your landlord has permission from their mortgage lender to rent the property? If not, you could be thrown out with very little notice.

I received a 5-year railcard with them when I opened a student account but have only used it once due to railways still being more expensive than National Express. I asked if I could return it for the £50 alternative incentive but they refused point blank even when I said I may leave. The branch staff don't seem to care so maybe phoning one of those "student advisors" may be more fruitful?MissMoneypenny wrote:HSBC are offering a mp3 player for new student accounts. I suppose you could say you're going to switch to another bank that will give you a free gift unless they are willing to offer the MP3 to keep your custom. They want to keep you for when you're earning after graduation not lose you now having made a loss on the free overdraft
Good Luck! :Tspacey
